Augustana Choir

The choir is an enthusiastic, fun-loving, dedicated group of singers who meet weekly to rehearse and prepare for worship. Its main function is to lead and assist in worship and to aid the congregation in learning new hymns and liturgies. Members are welcome without audition. The ability to read music is an asset but not a requirement. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., September through May. Monthly coffee times after rehearsals to celebrate birthdays and a Christmas party are part of the choir’s social activities.

Sunday Worship at 10:00 a.m.

A worship service is an important time to provide people with a reverential space in which to encounter God, both in the personal and corporate realms and at Augustana, we strive to provide that space and time for such an encounter to happen.

Augustana is grounded in the liturgical traditions of the Lutheran Church and offers worship services that allow each Sunday service to be as vibrant and rich an experience as possible.

Rooted in Word of God, Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church is a fellowship of believers from diverse cultures and backgrounds who worship God in downtown Edmonton by:

  • Proclaiming the good news of Christ crucified and risen

  • Administering Baptism and Holy Communion

  • Nurturing faith

  • Showing and sharing God's love

  • Promoting justice and helping to meet spiritual, emotional 

  • Physical needs in our congregation, community and world.
