Sunday School
We have a small but functioning Sunday school. Because this small group of children is multi aged and its members have different reading capabilities we use materials which are appropriate to the task. Through the offices of our Parish Assistant, we have been using the One Room Sunday School materials. They provide a variety of rich materials so that each child can work on satisfying things which are related to a variety of Biblical themes and ideas. The program includes many different kinds of projects, puzzles and stories as well as posters and excellent music both for listening and learning. The children seem to enjoy the lessons and projects provided.  The children also receive some good experiences with biblical stories. In addition, the older students provide some leadership in helping us regularly do an active version of the Lord’s Prayer and in reading from the Bible and other sources. As an offshoot, the children have performed songs for the congregation and one older student has read the scripture at some special services. This allows for the children to begin entering into the regular life of the church and contribute to the as they are able.

Sunday Worship at 10:00 a.m.

A worship service is an important time to provide people with a reverential space in which to encounter God, both in the personal and corporate realms and at Augustana, we strive to provide that space and time for such an encounter to happen.

Augustana is grounded in the liturgical traditions of the Lutheran Church and offers worship services that allow each Sunday service to be as vibrant and rich an experience as possible.

  • Proclaiming the good news of Christ crucified and risen

  • Promoting justice and helping to meet spiritual, emotional
