The ELW is an auxilary of the ELCIC.  We are a Christ-centred community committed to nurturing our faith and spiritual strength to enable us to be people of God in mission.

As women in mission, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we:

• respond to the reality of the world around us by entering into the lives of others, sharing our faith and by expressing our faith in action;
• support and affirm each other by accepting our differences, appreciating our varying abilities, mentoring and enabling each other;
• develop leadership skills and avenues for sharing talents and creativity;
• welcome all women and work toward justice and peace;
• nurture our faith and spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study and caring for each other.

The ELW group active at Augustana is active throughout the year, gathering for a business meeting and Bible Study on the third Saturday of every month, commencing at 9:30am.  Each year in the fall, we put together a Thank offering service, including a guest speaker for that Sunday.  As we take offering during this service and through the course of the year, 80% of this offering goes towards the ELCIC missions program while the remaining 20% goes towards the ELW special mission project and administration costs.

There are also Biennial conventions on the national level, Biennial conventions on the Synodical level and Spring and Fall Conferences for study and fellowship.
